Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ cup warm water (about 110°F)
  • ½ cup whole milk (room temperature)
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons dry active yeast
  • ¼ cup + 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • ½ cup confetti sprinkles
  • ⅓ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar
  • ⅓ cup dark brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 1 ½ cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, sprinkle yeast over warm water and milk; add one tablespoon of sugar. Stir and let it sit for about 5-7 minutes until bubbly.
  2. In a stand mixer bowl, combine the yeast mixture with remaining sugar and egg. Gradually mix in flour and softened butter until smooth.
  3. Fold in confetti sprinkles and transfer dough to a greased bowl; cover with plastic wrap. Let rise for about an hour until doubled in size.
  4. Roll out the dough into a rectangle (20 x 14 inches). Spread softened butter over it.
  5. Mix filling ingredients together and evenly distribute over the dough.
  6. Roll up tightly from one long side; slice into twelve pieces and place in a greased baking pan.
  7. Cover again and let rise for another 30-45 minutes until fluffy.
  8. Preheat oven to 350°F and bake for about 30-35 minutes until golden brown. Cool slightly before adding cream cheese frosting.
