  • 2 lbs Ribeye steak (cut into 2-inch long thin slices)
  • 1 red bell pepper (chopped into bite-size pieces)
  • 1 green bell pepper (chopped into bite-size pieces)
  • 1 medium white onion (chopped into bite-size pieces)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp ginger (minced)
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • ⅓ cup soy sauce
  • 1¼ cups beef broth
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (divided in half)

Instructions

  1. Sear the Steak: Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook ribeye slices for 5-6 minutes until lightly browned. Remove and set aside.
  2. Sauté the Veggies: In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of oil and cook chopped bell peppers and onions for 3-4 minutes until tender.
  3. Combine Everything: Return the steak to the skillet with veggies.
  4. Create Your Sauce: Mix garlic, black pepper, ginger, brown sugar, soy sauce, beef broth, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and cornstarch in a bowl. Pour over steak and veggies.
  5. Simmer: Bring to a gentle simmer for 4-5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
