  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 44 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 5 Tbsp unsalted butter (for filling)
  • 1/22/3 cup pumpkin butter
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar (for filling)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (for frosting)
  • 2 Tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 3 Tbsp milk
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Melt unsalted butter and let cool. In a bowl, mix warm buttermilk with instant yeast until frothy. Add melted butter, sugar, salt, vanilla extract, and eggs; mix well.
  2. Gradually add flour until a soft dough forms. Knead for about 8 minutes until smooth.
  3. Place dough in a greased bowl and cover; let rise in a warm place for about an hour or until doubled in size.
  4. Roll out dough into a rectangle; spread softened butter over it and layer on pumpkin butter and cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  5. Roll tightly and slice into equal pieces. Place in a greased baking dish; cover and let rise for another half hour.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for approximately 25 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Whisk together frosting ingredients while rolls bake; drizzle on cooled rolls before serving.
