Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (non-alcoholic)
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/3 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1 medium onion (sliced)
  • 8 ounces cremini mushrooms (sliced)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1¾ cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for frying)
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Pepper (to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, egg, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix gently and shape into four oval patties.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté onions and mushrooms until soft and caramelized (about 7-9 minutes).
  4. Reduce heat and add butter until melted; stir in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes. Gradually whisk in beef broth to create gravy.
  5. Return patties to the skillet with sautéed onions and mushrooms; simmer for an additional 5-7 minutes until fully cooked.
